/UCWE/ - Rising star Angie Ruiz is headed to Costa Rica to shoot award-winning Writer/Director Joel Silverman's teen comedy "Surf School." Joining a hot young cast including Corey Sevier and Ryan Carnes, Angie looks forward to her role in "Surf School," which promises to be one of the year's most hilarious comedies.
Ruiz, whose film credits include "40 Days And 40 Nights," "In Your Eyes," and "Bee Season," stars in "Surf School" as Mariana, a sexy siren determined to win the affections of the virgin Larry (Lee Norris) by outsmarting her rival Veronique. Taylor Negron, recent star of "The Aristocrats," also to star in "Surf School," remarks, "The role and storyline were tailored to Angie upon seeing her talents, and her part is the funniest sequence in the entire movie!"
"Surf School's" laugh-out-loud humor and coming of age drama make it akin to "American Pie" at the beach. Angie comments on her preparation for this project, which just began production April 6, "I perfected a Costa Rican accent, went surfing everyday ... just kidding ... I actually don't surf in the movie, but I do have a hilarious scene with a chimpanzee!"
Her humor and beauty are sure to shine in this role, as "Surf School" Writer/Director Joel Silverman points out, "Angie is one of those rare young actresses who can dazzle you with her looks and then crack you up with her comic flair."
