BCR Ahead of the Environmental Curve
/UCWE/ - The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been authorized by the Obama administration to move toward regulation of greenhouse gas emissions from large power plants and industrial facilities. The pending regulations have generated fear within American industry. However, BCR Environmental, a Jacksonville, FL based company, has already introduced products for water and wastewater treatment facilities that will provide solutions to this new federal initiative.

Gasifier, incinerator and dryer technologies used to dispose of waste water treatment plant biosolids emit large amounts of greenhouse gas emissions and require substantial amounts of energy to operate. These methods may become subject to additional permitting requirements under the EPA's new regulations. "We are not going to continue with business as usual," Lisa P. Jackson, the E.P.A. administrator, said Wednesday in a conference call with reporters. "We have the tools and the technology to move forward today, and we are using them." In response, American industry fears further regulations will increase their operational costs.

BCR Environmental has utilized patented technology in their solutions for water and biosolids management. In addition to the reduced gas emissions, BCR clients have documented reduced energy consumption by up to 95% and decreased labor and hauling costs. The hauling costs in many cases can be quite significant. BCR systems also allow treatment facilities to supplement commercial fertilizer usage by using BCR treated biosolids. The treated biosolids can range from Class B to Class A/AA, depending on the BCR system selected.

BCR Environmental is a true pioneer in the development and installation of innovative water and wastewater treatment systems for both commercial and municipal applications utilizing expertise in chemical, electrical, and automation systems.
