 /UCWE/ - The UCW Radio Show, hosted by Louis Velazquez, is gearing up for a great show today, last night in New York City was electric, kicking off the night with the great Mary J Blige singing the National Anthem before Game 6 of the World Series. The Bronx Bombers after a true battle with the Phillies came out swinging on the back of Hideki Matsui to capture their 27th World Series Win, honestly this was one of those series which both teams forced the other to bring out the best in themselves. The Yankees didn’t run away with the victory it was hard fought, which should quiet down the naysayers who criticize the Yankees for their big budget and habit for paying top dollar for top talent. What baseball fans should realize is that the New York Yankees have not won a World Series since the year 2000 when they defeated the Mets in the Subway World Series. The Yankee fans have a lot to celebrate as the World title comes to Bronx New York, my hometown, for the 27th time, an achievement that may never be duplicated. So here is lined up for legendary teams in professional sports, in Basketball you have the Los Angeles Lakers, in football you have the Pittsburgh Steelers and of course in baseball you have the New York Yankees, they are all the winningest, is that is even a word, teams in their perspective sport. Alex Rodriguez finally gets his first ring, Johnny Damon gets his second first was with the Boston Red Sox and now one with the Yankees, while others get to stick up their thumb for sizing as they filled that hand up with rings. From Derrick Jeter to World Series MVP Hideki Matsui and the classic Andy Pettitte laying down the foundation and of course with Mariano Rivera doing what he does best, shutting down the opponents. So Congratulations to the New York Yankees on their win, they fought for it, and they delivered it directly to the fans in classic form in the New $1.5 Billion Yankee Stadium, nothing better than that. Now just staying on the New York Theme , New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg clinched his third term as he retains his seat as the Mayor of New York City beating out Bill Thompson, the only other New York City Mayor to accomplish that was the beloved Mayor Ed Koch but Koch lost his bid for term number four, which Bloomberg says he is not interested in. Now moving on to the New Jersey Governors race, its official , after all the bashing and character attacks New Jersey has a new Governor in Chris Christie, he defeated Governor Jon Corzine and now a new era in Jersey is under way, Christie’s first appearance was at a Newark School. Lets see how things move forward for the “New” New Jersey, only time will tell. Now here is something interesting, it looks like Ford Motor, one of the companies that I have felt since it was knocked down to the a joke of a level but under the leadership of Alan Mulally the guy that turned Boeing around should be one of the darlings of Wall Street, but what they have unveiled is an inflated seat belt which may replace the airbag, very interesting and as more comes out I’ll talk about it. Remember that we will be launching the “Next Dragon Radio Show” which is directly connected to the new reality show “The Next Dragon”, a project lead by Iron Dragon Productions and Innovative Renderworx. The reality show will be holding an open casting call soon and you will see contestants from around the world auditioning to be on the show.
