Reality Shows: Dating in the Dark, American Chopper, W.E.A.P.O.N., Braxton Family Values, Big Life
/UCWE/ - According to reality TV reports it seems as though ABC has taken a liking to reality dating show "Dating in the Dark," a show that follows single women and men through the entire dating process but he's the rub the people on the date never actually see each other, hmmm kind of like the orginal dating game but much more intense.

So ABC likes it so much that they ordered another season, this is coming from Variety, I guess the networks have their menu and just circle off what they want to order from there.

But nonetheless ABC has ordered six episodes of the reality dating series, and if the sources are correct this will be slated to be aired Summer 2010.

This is skinny about "Dating in the Dark" , the ratings declined sharply after the show it orginally followed, "The Bachelorette" ended its season, They still inked a deal for the show which is actually based on a Dutch series called "Blind Love" , you would think that ABC would be more inclined to develop original content as opposed to copying ideas, especially with all the great content that is out there that ABC can just gobble up.

Anyhow you have six people that actually go through the dating ritual but do this in complete darkness, although you the viewer or voyeur thanks to nightvision get to catch every moment of the date. This takes place over a few days and then they get a glimpse of the other houseguests before they make their choice.

So ABC likes the concept and ran with it, now on another front just recently The TLC network, yes the same network that aired "Jon and Kate Plus Eight" just ended the seven year run of the very popular biker show "American Chopper" , this is the show that followed Paul Teutul Sr's Orange County Choppers as they created unique motorcycles with impossible deadlines. Now for those that may not know they are based in Newburgh, NJ and The show attracted some heavyhitters from Intel to the state of Alaska, so they are the real deal but according to reports the squabbles between Teutul and his sons made the show lose its edge.

In short a great show ends and a not so great show enters the reality show arena. The next reality show that will be in front of the networks soon is W.E.A.P.O.N. The Series, the show is based on a team of women who will be trained in everything from acting and modeling to martial arts film fighting as well as fitness, they will get into the best shape of their lives. Viewers will get to see them as they grow into well rounded entertainers and actually have the rare opportunity to see what may be the next big thing in Hollywood. The show is casting now for their first season, go to www.weapontheseries.com to find out more.

Now on the recording artist turned reality show star front, the very talented recording artist Toni Braxton is slated to be starring in her own reality show called "Braxton Family Values" which will begin taping immediately following her May 4, 2010 debut of her new album "Pulse," the show will be picked up by Bravo and will be airing this fall.

Last and definitely least is the new reality starring Kirstie Alley called "Kirstie Alley's Big Life" , I guess the show is about her losing weight again, but come on REALLY!!! , she did well when she dropped all that weight and now she'll try to do it all again on national television. Honestly I'd rather see the commerical spots with Valerie Bertinelli and Jenny Craig, she is looking great.
