/UCWE/ - The honorable television producer that gave another black eye to the entertainment industry by trying to blackmail David Letterman for $2 Million has pleaded guilty in New York City on March 9, 2010.
The producer, Robert "Joe" Halderman, is not just any run of the mill producer he is an Emmy Award winning producer at CBS News, so that gives a big boost of confidence in the people that bring the world into our livingrooms every night. Well Halderman left the courtroom very humble and he actually apologized to Letterman via his peers in the news business.
Now here is his punishment for being a little rat or a jilted lover, 6 of 1 half dozen of the other you're choice, Halderman's plea bargain will have him serving six months in prison, have four and a half years probation and perform 1,000 hours of community service, 500 of which will take place in a Connecticut homesless shelter.
Now this is just a plea deal, one that Halderman has not taken as of yet, but th alternative was a grand larceny charge which carries up to a 15-year prison sentence.
Now here is a tasty bit of information, Halderman lived with Stephanie Birkitt up until last year and she is the one rumored to have carried on an affair with Letterman.
Well the 66 year old Halderman waived his right to appeal and is set to be back in front of the judge for sentencing on May 4, 2010.
