Even though the world may be going gaga over Lady Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, there is one person that isn’t that thrilled as of the writing of this article.
Lady Gaga's ex-boyfriend, business partner and believe it or not her producer has filed a lawsuit against the pop star for about US$30.5 million, his claim is that she shoved him aside from her robust business and career after their romance fizzled away.
Her Ex is songwriter-producer Rob Fusari's and his lawsuit states clearly that he was the one that transformed the Stefani Germanotta persona into what we all know now as "Lady Gaga" and to make her music more commercial it states that he changed up her “rock riffs and replaced them with dance beats.”
Now Lady Gaga is a sensation the world over, part of her success comes not only from her music but also from her outrageous persona, she is no doubt one of the world's hottest recording artists with two Grammys on the shelf in 2010 alone, her career just keeps getting brighter, but the question that is up in the air is did she really do this all by her lonesome, probably not, but its not for us to judge.
In the suit it stated the following: "All business is personal. When those personal relationships evolve into romantic entanglements, any corresponding business relationship usually follows the same trajectory so that when one crashes, they all burn. That is what happened here."
The picture that is painted by Fuacari’s Atttorney Robert Meloni is a 20-year-old pre-Lady Gaga, Stefani Germanotta riding a bus from Manhattan to Fusari's studio in Parsippany, New Jersey, to work on music in early 2006.
"Fusari was expecting someone a little more grunge-rocker than a young 'guidette' type that showed up at his place and at that point, according to the suit, that he was concerned that he made a mistake.
"Fusari then asked her to play one of her songs on the studio piano and within seconds; (he) realized that Germanotta had star potential. The trick would be coaxing it out of her."
According to the lawsuit Fusari thought that her songs were great but as is with the issue with a lot of recording artist, they were missing that commercial appeal.
"He pushed her to explore different musical genres," it said. "Over the course of the next several months, Germanotta commuted from New York to Jersey seven days a week, radically reshaping her approach.
They put their focus on writing music and finding a sound for her."He also states that he was the one who convinced her "to abandon rock riffs and add dance beats. He demonstrated how the sound of a drum machine would not hurt the integrity of her music."
Now to the name “Lady Gaga”, Fusari makes claim that he created her stage name via a texting accident. He sent her a text message that was suppose to say "Radio Ga Ga," as in the song by Queen, and his spell check on his mobile phone changed it to "Lady Ga Ga,". "Germanotta loved it and 'Lady Gaga' was born."
As with most close working relationships, sometimes it tends to get romantic, and that is exactly what happened here as they were "working intensely in such close emotional quarters."
Now it came to a point when Stefani Germanotta and her father inked a deal with Fuscari which gave him a nice chunk of her career, to the tune of twenty percent . As you see most times when a person gets fame and fortune, someone falls by the wayside, and in this case it seems that Fuscari saw the tell tale signs of what was to come and he wanted to bring their relationship back to a purely professional level in early 2007.
According to Fuscari, the artist now known as Lady Gaga inked a deal in May 2007 with Interscope he was out of not only the information loop but she stopped taking his calls all together.
So this is sure to be a continued saga in the world of “Lady Gaga” but hey with great success comes great issues, and this is just one that she has to deal with now.
