Wolf Kesh is a self-taught artist who by virtue of not having formal art education uses unconventional creative methods and travels between various styles, freely. Combine this liberty and his unrestrained vitality with his passion for Humanism and his art - which doesn’t just defy, but often offends convention - is a burst of a vibrant life at today’s stagnant art scene.
There is no question that Wolf’s is Outsider Art. With that said, his work is neither Art Brute nor bears resemblance to the sugary style of Thomas Kinkade; it is easy however to detect in it the influences of renowned Humanist thinkers. Wolf Kesh’ art – in terms of content – is distinctly Humanist. His images TALK; they communicate with the viewer by depicting not only reality, but our thoughts and feelings. His thoughts inspire us to think deeper. His work pays homage to - and reaffirms - our Humanity with its inherent power as well as vulnerabilities.
Wolf Kesh’s work is loved by the public everywhere as well as…… by foreign art galleries. He has received compliments from the Eurogallery in Scotland, The Archive of Humanist Art in Melbourne (Australia) and several other European and even South African cultural organizations.
Wolf Kesh - who was born in Greece and after over 20 years of living in Southern California doesn’t speak English fluently, still – does not work alone. His artistic collaborator Sarah Williams expresses the depth of Wolf’s thought in the descriptions of his art. As a team, they don’t offer a conventional art exhibit but a one-of-a-kind Art Happening.
